So What exactly is Acne Zeno Treatment and how does it work?
The small, hand held, battery operated Zeno Acne Clearing Device has a tip that heats up to a pre-determined temperature and once this tip is in contact with a spot or pimple the tip will transfer heat into the hair follicle on the skin. The temperature is then modulated according to the skin type and pimple, and the whole process is controlled by a built in digital timer thus preventing any damage to the skin. A heat shock response is stimulated in p. acnes, which is the bacteria that causes around 90% of all acne pimples and blemishes. The bacterial cells under heat stress activate heat shock proteins which destroy the p.acnes within the lesion which in turn reduces the inflammation returning the skin to a healthy condition.
How to use Zeno
When you press on the power button the lights turn on and they are accompanied by an audible 3 toned alert. The treatment activation glows orange and will turn to a flashing green after about a minute as a 2 toned alarm sounds. Press the treatment activation button one more time will make the button glow permanent green and it is then ready for use.
By placing the tip of Zeno on the pimple, it will deliver the exact amount of low level heat directly to the spot. Each treatment lasts around 2½ minutes. On the front of the Zeno Acne Treatment device there are 4 small lights which indicate the life left in the replaceable tip which originally lasted for 90 treatments but with the newer Zeno MD model now lasts for 150. There is also a slightly larger light on the right hand side of the front panel which indicates the battery life.
