Does Light Acne Treatment work? Is it as good or even better than traditional creams or medications such as bensoyl peroxide?
Read on as the facts are separated from the myths.
A Product review on Dr. Kern’s Beauty Care Light Treatment
Many people who suffer from Acne pimples often find that their condition improves to a certain extent when they are more exposed to sunshine and this is due to the Ultra Violet rays penetrating the skin and destroying the bacteria causing the infection. While some people may use this method, including UV lamps it is not always ideal as the side effect of course is the potential to damage the skin from “sun burning”.
There are laser and blue light acne treatment systems out there which have to be administered under supervision in a clinic environment which can be very expensive (up to $1000). In the case of the Laser acne treatment the results can be minimal with possible blistering, temporary darkening or lightening of the skin and occasionally scarring whereas with blue light treatment in some cases, it can cause terrible skin peeling and the acne may get worse before it all settles down again, and these treatments may need to be repeated.
Enter Dr Kern’s Beauty Care Light therapy treatment . It’s a table lamp which emits both blue and red light and is provided with protection goggles as the light is very bright and could damage your eyes if they are not worn. Each treatment lasts for about 15 minutes and you sit in front of the lamp during the session. Research at Hammersmith Hospital, London England was carried out using blue only, white only and blue and red light together and it was found that the blue and red light together was more effective. Newer research from the Department of Dermatology, Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York also agreed that Blue and Red light seems to have great potential treating mild to severe acne. Some users have found that quicker results are obtained by using bensoyl peroxide together with the light treatment, so don’t rule out the medications. They still have their place and work well for some people, but if they have been ineffective, then the Beauty Care light therapy product may produce better results for you. Again, the instructions do point out that the acne pimples may become worse before getting better, but these symptoms are mild and many users have found this product a great benefit and most importantly – painless, and for these reasons this has to be one of the best acne treatments out there.

I can recollect as a youth my grandma usually said my friends had acne simply because they didn’t take adequate vitamins. Was she right? I’m not sure, but I do know for sure my brother and me never got acne, so perhaps it was the vitamins.
